Stop the cruelty and seizing of dogs from family homes and malnurishment when taken away
The Issue
Petition:
With the recent events in london and the shooting of two dogs which where quite happy and content with theire owner on the tube id like to bring more out that can be done to stopping things like this and also stop the seizures of loving family pets. Dogs wont be vicious even depending on theire breed it is the way they have been brought up and id like to try and put a stop to people saying or reporting a dog just because of its breed or because they dont like the breed of dog in many cases when a dog is seized it is not looked after by the impound that the police have like i have seen in many cases recently they are really malnurised when they are deemed safe and return home to theire familys but if there is a need to seize the dog for any reason i want to put things in to place to stop the imediate seizure of a pet without further investigation in to this and to stop the dogs being malnurisied when they are taken away whilst they are being assed by a trained proffessional in animal behaviour id like to put this forward to the goverment but will need alot of publicity and signitures to help me get this to the top and get some sort of procedure in place to help prevent pets being seized in the future
Every year, thousands of dogs are seized from their family homes due to various reasons such as neglect, abuse, or illegal breeding. While the intention behind these seizures may be noble, the way in which they are carried out often leads to further cruelty and suffering for these innocent animals.
Many animal control agencies and shelters lack the resources and expertise to properly care for seized dogs. As a result, many of them end up malnourished, sick, or even euthanized due to overcrowding. This is not only heartbreaking but also unacceptable.
Furthermore, the process of seizing dogs can be traumatic for both the animals and their families. Dogs are often taken away without warning or explanation, leaving their owners devastated and confused. Many families never see their beloved pets again.
We believe that there must be a better way to handle cases of animal cruelty and neglect. Rather than simply seizing dogs from their homes without proper consideration for their well-being or that of their families’, we urge authorities to work with pet owners towards solutions that benefit everyone involved.
This could include providing education on responsible pet ownership or connecting families with resources such as low-cost spay/neuter programs or veterinary care services.
We call on all animal control agencies and shelters across the country to prioritize humane treatment of seized animals by providing adequate care while they await placement in loving homes. We also urge lawmakers at all levels of government to support legislation aimed at preventing animal cruelty while protecting both pets and pet owners’ rights.
Together we can make a difference in ending this cruel practice once and for all!
