Hello to everyone, I work at Safeway, and I've seen meat from baby calves. It breaks my heart to see the tiny packages of veal next to the beef cuts, especially knowing the inhumane treatment these animals endure. Ripping baby calves from their mothers, beating, and ultimately killing them for their liver is an atrocity that makes me 100% mad.

Imagine the pain and distress of being torn away from your parents who love you. As humans, we would never tolerate such cruelty for our own offspring. Why is it acceptable for these innocent animals? Every day, countless baby calves are subjected to these cruel practices solely for the sake of tender meat. The emotional and physical pain these animals endure is unimaginable and utterly unacceptable.

Statistics show that 16.1 million veal calves were slaughtered in the United States alone last year (USDA, 2022). These calves are often confined in small crates, unable to move freely, and deprived of the maternal affection they so desperately need. According to the Humane Society, these practices not only cause physical harm but also severe psychological trauma to these innocent creatures.

A growing number of individuals are realizing the necessity to change our consumption patterns in response to these cruel practices. Many have already made the conscious choice to cut out beef and pork from their diets. This petition calls for the immediate end to the production of veal using these inhumane methods.
