Petition updateStop The Councils - Keep Our Youth Inspired! We live in an Orwellian autocracy. They've actually added even more restrictions!!

WOW! Big Brother is alive and well!

PLEASE PASS ON THIS PETITION TO GET MORE SIGNATURES.

Having been told in our 1st zoom call that Bromley Public Protection would do their very best to sort out this silly issue and help their youth continue to get jobs in film via CPIFF. INSTEAD, we are now required to submit synopses for every film screened in Bromley (having met each other, Lambeth will no doubt follow). Even films scheduled for an 18-rated night may be singled out for individual classification and charged for!

It is frankly insulting to imply that I could curate a film containing material actually unfit for an 18 certificate! This again is legally disproportionate and unreasonable, we have had zero complaints in 16 years of self rating in 3 boroughs. This level of interference is the ultimate in nanny-state overreach — an autocratic approach that has no place in a modern, creative society and unfairly dismissive of our immaculate pedigree in rating films.

A SIMPLE SOLUTION for the council to be statutory compliant in this matter AND do the right thing for the borough and its creative youth is to officially delegate myself Neill Roy to rate the films.

THEY CAN DO THIS SO THEY NEED TO EXPLAIN WHY NOT?

Who is more qualified to rate film, myself, Neill Roy: 35 years producing film and 16 years rating CPIFF with zero complaints.
or
Paul: 8 months in the licensing office?

Please keep supporting your rights and freedom of expression. THANK YOU.
