I took another trip to DC - and came back with some good news.

Last week was such an incredible week in Washington DC with the National Park Conservation Association & Conserve Big Bend/NBBW

As you know, we've struggled to get any real or consistent line of communication between folks on the ground and folks on the Hill.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to come to DC and continue being a part of the delegation trying to help open those lines of communication and get information and answers for the Big Bend region—especially for all the private landowners who are in a state of limbo wondering what is planned for their ranches, farms, and homes.

I also want to say a huge thank you to all of you that have called your reps, shared posts, and helped get the word out about what’s happening in Big Bend— it really has made a difference.

When I met with offices here back in April, most people hadn’t really heard about what was going on or didn’t feel like this was a national issue.

Your calls, letters, emails, comments, and overall public pressure have made it one.

No matter the party, almost every office we met with was aware of what’s going on and mentioned getting lots of phone calls from constituents.

I know sometimes it feels like we are shouting into the void when we make those calls or write those letters, but our voices matter.

And this week, the voices of Big Bend are being heard through the halls of the Capitol.
