The Issue

I'm reaching out to you with a heartfelt concern that directly impacts my daily life and the safety of my beloved pets. I am autistic, which makes sensory experiences, particularly loud noises and strong smells, especially challenging for me to cope with on a regular basis. The construction of a campground near our residence would inevitably introduce many of these sensory triggers, making it difficult for me to enjoy the safe and comfortable environment I rely on.

Additionally, I dedicate my free time to rescuing and caring for cats, providing them with a sanctuary at our home. This is not just a passion, but a crucial aspect of my life that gives me meaning and joy. The influx of people and increased noise associated with a nearby campground raises serious concerns about the welfare of the animals I care for. Sudden disruptions could lead to distress among the cats, impacting their health and safety.

A campground will not only affect my life but could adversely impact the neighborhood. Increased traffic, noise, and environmental disruption threaten the peaceful atmosphere of our community. Moreover, the presence of more people and vehicles could lead to potential safety hazards for our animals, who may become more prone to accidents or illnesses due to stress and noise pollution.

I urge local decision-makers to consider the far-reaching consequences of this development. I propose exploring alternative locations for the campground that do not disrupt residential areas, especially those with vulnerable individuals who may be disproportionately affected. Our community deserves to maintain the peace and safety that makes it a comforting place for all its residents, both human and animal.

Please join me in ensuring that our neighborhood remains a sanctuary for everyone who calls it home. Your support is vital. Please sign this petition to help us stop the construction of the campground and protect our community’s integrity and tranquility.
