The Issue

I have lived in the Turkey Creek community for many years, cherishing its serene environment and the home values that come with it. However, the proposed construction of an AI data center just 0.3 miles from here threatens to disrupt this tranquility. My biggest concern is the potential devaluation of our homes, which is not just a financial hit but a personal one, as our homes are often one of our most significant investments and places of emotional comfort.

Noise pollution is another issue. Data centers are notorious for generating continuous noise due to the operation of numerous servers and cooling systems. Such noise disturbances can affect our quality of life and interfere with the peaceful atmosphere we have become accustomed to.

Then there is the matter of health risks. The environmental impact of such large facilities has raised concerns about air and water quality, not to mention the increase in electromagnetic emissions, which can pose unknown risks to resident health. Furthermore, significant infrastructure like data centers demand vast amounts of water for cooling and electricity to run, potentially raising local utility costs and further straining our community's resources.

Building a data center this close is not just a local issue but a broader community concern. Similar projects have shown that data centers can lead to unexpected local disruptions. For instance, in areas where they were previously constructed, residents often reported increased noise levels, higher utility bills, and a generally diminished quality of life.

By signing this petition, you will help protect our cherished Turkey Creek community from an ill-considered development that could negatively influence our health, finances, and environment. Join us in urging local authorities to reconsider the location of this AI data center, proposing instead a site that is more suitable and less invasive to residential areas.

Your support in this matter is crucial. It's time to step up and guard the wellbeing of our community. Please sign this petition to prevent the AI data center from being built too close to Turkey Creek.
