As a resident living in close proximity to the proposed mega site (Advanced Technology Center) in New Russia Township, I am deeply concerned about the multitude of negative effects this development will bring to our community. Many of us chose this rural area for its tranquility, natural beauty, and agricultural roots. The peace and simplicity of our lives would be irrevocably altered by the construction of a large-scale facility here.

Mega sites and data centers are notorious for causing a host of environmental and social problems. The increase in light pollution and noise from constant operations would disrupt the serene nights we cherish. Traffic pollution is an inevitable consequence, with a potential surge in vehicles around the site leading to congested roads and increased risks of accidents. Moreover, the enhanced demand for utilities could lead to higher bills, further straining our resources.

One of the most pressing concerns is the threat to our environment. Our township’s land is primarily composed of farmland, which not only supports local agriculture but also serves as a green lung for the region. This development threatens to replace our prime farmland with concrete, affecting local people, wildlife, and ecosystems that depend on these lands.

Our community values its rural character. We are proud of the open fields and the close-knit community spirit that our township embodies. The presence of a mega site will disrupt our way of living and alter the future of our rural area.
 
Moreover, this development is proceeding despite strong opposition from local residents. We deserve to have a voice in decisions that affect our lives so profoundly. It’s vital for our concerns to be heard and considered by the decision-makers.
