The Issue

The plan to build 300 new data centres poses a devastating threat to our environment and communities. These centres, supporting outdated technology, are not only unnecessary but potentially disastrous for our waterways and ecosystems. Our rivers and waterways must be preserved and protected from hazardous developments that could lead to irreversible environmental damage.

Data centres are notorious for their excessive water usage, with each centre potentially consuming over 85 million gallons of water annually. In regions like Alaska, already suffering from drought conditions, the establishment of new data centres could exacerbate an already critical water shortage, severely impacting local communities and wildlife.

In addition to the massive water consumption, data centres have the potential to disrupt the very molecular structure of water, rendering it toxic and harmful to all forms of life. The tragic case of the Rio Grande River, now bone dry, serves as a stark example of the potential consequences of unchecked data centre construction. Our planet cannot sustain such pressure on our natural resources.

It is imperative that we prioritize the health and safety of our environment over the interests of companies pushing for these outdated technologies. There are alternative and sustainable options available that do not compromise our essential resources. We call upon policymakers, environmentalists, and citizens alike to stand against the construction of these 300 proposed data centres.

Let us unite to protect our water, preserve our ecosystems, and advocate for a future where technology and sustainability coexist. Sign this petition to demand an immediate halt to the construction of harmful data centres. Together, we can make a difference and secure a healthier planet for ourselves and future generations. Please sign this petition and make your voice heard. All First Nations, all peoples must rally for this very cause or no more fish for your consumption . Mother Earth is calling out loud for protection from these  Data Centres.
