Stop the Consolidation of New Tech with CHS and CHS9
The Issue
As parents and students deeply embedded in the fabric of our educational community in Coppell, TX, we find ourselves strongly opposing the proposed consolidation of New Tech High @ Coppell with CHS and CHS9.
Like many families, we have witnessed firsthand the undeniable benefits that the New Tech's Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach imparts to our students.
New Tech is more than just a school; it is an innovative environment dedicated to nurturing skills crucial for the future of our children. The PBL methodology that defines our school emphasizes the development of life-essential skills such as oral communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. These attributes are vital in the ever-evolving professional landscape our children will encounter.
However, the looming possibility of our beloved New Tech merging with CHS and CHS9 poses a significant threat to these educational values. Such a consolidation risks diluting the tailored, student-centered learning experiences that have set New Tech apart since its inception. This is not just a loss for our current students, but a potential disservice to future generations who deserve the same opportunities.
Statistics show that students engaged in PBL not only perform better academically, but are also more prepared for real-world challenges, where collaboration and innovative problem-solving are key. These skills are what New Tech expertly equips our students with, making them competitive in future academic and career endeavors.
Furthermore, many of us in the Coppell community chose New Tech specifically because of its unique approach and its small-sized campus. The idea of merging it with larger schools threatens to homogenize this distinct educational style and sacrifice the personal attention and creativity our students currently benefit from.
We urge the decision-makers (Coppell ISD Board of Trustees and Coppell ISD Administration) to consider the long-term impacts of this consolidation on our community's educational landscape and the future of countless children. It is imperative to preserve the integrity and distinctiveness of New Tech's learning model, safeguarding it for current and future students who will continue to thrive under its guidance.
Please join us in opposing this consolidation.
Stand with the New Tech community to protect our children’s education and future!
