Stop the Complicity: Call on Justine Elliott to Meet with the Community

The issue

We request a public meeting with our Federal Member of Parliament, Justine Elliot, to discuss her continued support for the Israeli government amid a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

As concerned citizens, we are alarmed by Australia’s silence in the face of mass civilian casualties, including over 12,000 children, with 14,000 facing death by starvation in the next days, and ongoing violations of international law.

Many of us are parents, carers, workers, educators, and voters who believe deeply in the values of justice, human rights, and the protection of all people, especially the most vulnerable.

This petition echoes the open letter recently delivered to Ms. Elliot, highlighting the urgent need for our elected representatives to uphold international humanitarian law, and for our communities to be heard.

We seek a compassionate and transparent dialogue, rooted in accountability and ask that Justine Elliot meet publicly with her constituents to address:

  • Her voting record and public stance on Israel’s actions in Gaza
  • Australia’s international legal obligations under the Genocide Convention, Geneva Conventions, and other treaties
  • The call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire
  • The need to suspend arms exports to Israel
  • Any affiliations or potential influences on her decision-making

This is not about partisanship. It’s about human lives. And as our representative, we ask that Ms. Elliot listen to the voices of her electorate, many of whom are calling for peace, justice, and accountability.
