Statewide Rally against AI Data centres November 14th, 1pm State Library!
Statewide Rally against AI Data centres November 14th, 1pm State Library!
The issue
Hi everyone
Thank you for signing this petition. Collectively across Victoria we’ve gathered over 34,000 signatures from people like you in petitions against AI data centres, and across the country that number is 197,000!
Ordinary people are saying no, we do not consent! But will the politicians who are meant to represent us listen?
We aim to make them listen, by gathering at a statewide rally on November 14th at the State Library at 1pm.
Communities have already stopped AI data centres across Australia (look up Lane Cove in Sydney) and the globe. Closer to home the expansion of the NextDC data centre in West Footscray has been delayed because of local community action – and NextDC stock price crashed by 40%.
People Power Works!
Both the state and federal governments are starting to move on regulating AI data centres, but we know they aren’t going to do enough unless we keep the pressure up.
With less than four weeks to go until the State Election, we are calling everyone concerned about AI Data Centres to gather with us on Saturday 14th November at 1pm for a statewide Rally beginning at the State Library. This will be a chance to show how large the concern about AI data centres is across the entire state!
Bring your friends, family, signs and placards. Bring your voice, bring your concern, bring your outrage, bring your love!
Can you come on the 14th, to join the community voice calling for a Moratorium on AI data centres across Victoria?
