There is changes being made as of now that are closing down the HSE Autistic unit in Waterford, and opening up another three units for children with all disabilities. As good as this may sound the care, support and resources that will be offered is unspecialised unalike how it used to be. This is a huge difference compared to what was had before especially with the amount of therapists there will be and their experience remaining unknown and has not been communicated with us.

Compared to a report in 2009 which stated that 0.65% of children are autistic, that has recently changed to 1.5% proving that more children have been diagnosed therefore more care, resources and support should be provided and more specialised.

As an autistic child this has great impact on me and my family and all the support and guidance that we need.
