Stop the closure of the silent animals shelter

The Issue

Animals deserve to live in peace and be safe. The shelter isn’t hurting anyone and it should not be closed down because of the opinion of one person. In Madaba, Jordan, there is a shelter that has been a haven for over 1000 cats and dogs, many of whom are disabled. This place of refuge and care now faces the threat of closure due to the complaints of a single neighbor who lives two streets down and doesn’t want animals in the neighborhood.

The dedication of the shelter staff and volunteers has been unwavering. They have tirelessly ensured that these animals receive the love, care, and medical attention they deserve. The shelter stands as a beacon of hope and compassion in our community, providing for those who cannot care for themselves.

Closing this shelter would mean the displacement and potential endangerment of over 1000 animals. These creatures, who have already faced hardship and neglect, rely on us for their basic needs and sanctuary. It is unfathomable to think that the concerns of one individual could outweigh the welfare of these animals and the community support they have received over the years.

The local government should prioritize the well-being of these animals and recognize the importance the shelter holds for both the animals and the community. The concern of a single person should not overshadow the collective good that the shelter represents.

Join me in urging our local authorities to consider the broader implications of closing this shelter. Let us stand together to protect the vulnerable creatures who call it home.

Sign this petition to help ensure that our shelter remains a safe haven for these innocent animals, and to show that compassion and care should always triumph over intolerance and indifference. Every signature matters.
