Stop the Closure of the Post Office at One Stop, Windsor Street, Chertsey

The Issue

I am a resident of Chertsey and like many others in our community, I rely heavily on the services provided by our local Post Office located in the One Stop on Windsor Street. This Post Office is more than just a place to send and receive mail; it's an integral part of our community that provides essential services such as banking, bill payments, and benefits collection.

The proposed closure threatens to disrupt these vital services that many residents depend upon daily. According to The Guardian (2019), over a million people in rural areas across the UK depend on their local post offices for banking services alone due to lack of nearby banks. In Chertsey, this closure will not only inconvenience us but also disproportionately affect our elderly population who may not have easy access to transportation or online alternatives.

We cannot stand by while this crucial resource is taken away from us. We urge Royal Mail Group Ltd., which owns and operates Post Offices across the country, to reconsider their decision and keep our local office open.

Please join me in signing this petition today so we can show how important this service is for all residents of Chertsey. Together we can make a difference!
