As a local Berryessa resident and proud parent of a Sierramont Middle School graduate and current parent of Ruskin student, I am starting this petition to prevent the closure of our beloved institutions. Ruskin and Sierramont aren't just any schools; it is a vital part of our community, home to the best teachers, and a place where children learn, grow, and thrive in an amazing and supportive atmosphere. 

Moreover, it is worth noting that Ruskin and Sierramont are the best elementary and middle schools in our Berryessa Unified School District (BUSD). Based on data gathered by USNews, SchoolDigger and Niche, respected platforms for school rankings and reviews, Ruskin and Sierramont outperform all their counterparts within our district. This is testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our school's educators and administrators.

Such a commendable institutions inherently deserves our support, not consideration for closure. Curtailing the operation of these schools would deprive future students of the excellent educational opportunities that my child and many others were fortunate to experience. 

The closure of these two highly regarded schools will not only deprive our children of quality education but will also have far-reaching consequences. A decline in property values, a weakened local economy, and a loss of community spirit are just some of the potential outcomes.

We call on the concerned authorities and stakeholders to reconsider their decision and help us ensure that Ruskin and Sierramont remain open and continue its unique legacy in molding young individuals into responsible, successful citizens.
