UPDATE - 8/22/2025

First, we are grateful for everyone’s support in our battle to preserve our family farm winery.

Unfortunately, York County Court revoked our Stay yesterday. We are not giving up and have initiated our appeal to the Supreme Court. In the interim, the winery will be closed immediately. We are also filing an emergency stay, which we hope will allow us to reopen until we finally get our day in court. Please stay in touch during these difficult times.

UPDATE - 5/5/2025

In 2003, all I wanted to do was grow some grapes and make some award-winning wine for family, friends, and good neighbors. But here we are 22 years later on the steps of the Capital going in front of 3 Superior Court Judges. Today, we argue our appeal to protect our rights for due process to continue the Family Farm Winery on 50 acres of protected agricultural land overlooking the Susquehanna River in Wrightsville, PA. The good news is we will not give up the fight, so join us this weekend for some Moon Dancer wine and prepare for another 22 years of great wine and events. NO FARMS, NO WiNE!

UPDATE - 7/11/24

Friends of Moon Dancer - We have sad news. The court has ruled that we cannot remain open. We are being forced to close Moon Dancer Winery by the end of the day Thursday, July 18. We don't know when, or it, we will ever reopen.

We are beyond devastated. We want you to know that we are NOT giving up. We are planning to appeal and are exploring all possible avenues to allow us to reopen. We know that you aren't giving up on us, either!

Thank you to those of you who continue to stand by us and for those of you who have signed the petition to save Moon Dancer. If you haven't yet, please visit our website to sign.

YOU are the heart and soul of Moon Dancer. YOU are what has made this such a special place for the last two decades.

We hope to see everyone out this weekend for one last bash!

We will have live entertainment Friday, Saturday and Sunday - along with our wood-fired pizzas - and of course - delicious wines, sodas and ciders!

The Lauxmont Farms neighborhood loves having this beautiful winery on 50 acres of farmland in Wrightsville, PA. Recently, the winery was ordered to close its doors over a legal dispute brought by a neighbor concerning the use of its agricultural zoned property. The winery filed an emergency motion to rescind the order with the court on June 6, 2024. Moon Dancer is more than a business; it’s a cherished part of our community where families gather, friends meet, and memories are made. Its preservation ensures not only the protection of valuable farmland but also the retention of local jobs and a positive economic impact. The winery's cultural value is evident through its support of local musical artists and its appeal to wine enthusiasts. Closing it would mean losing an integral piece of our local culture and heritage. We need your support to keep this treasured place open for future generations to enjoy. Please sign this petition to help save our beloved winery!

A MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER:

Dear Friends,

We have some unfortunate news to share. We recently learned that Moon Dancer Winery is being forced by court order to close our doors, starting June 10, 2024.

We are heartbroken to have to close our doors for even one day, but we simply don't have a choice.

We are seeking permission from the court to reopen as soon as possible, with the goal of remaining in operation while litigation continues.

We are honored and grateful for the support of everyone who has been able to share our beautiful dream on the Susquehanna River hills over the past 20+ years, and we appreciate your understanding during this very difficult time. We are also very proud of our efforts to preserve 50 acres of pristine agricultural land by creating a truly one-of-kind winery experience.

Please check our website for updates at MoonDancerWinery.com or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

And remember: NO FARMS, NO WINE!

Cheers, Jim
