Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are thrilled to share that our petition has now reached 2,000 signatures! This milestone is more than just a number — it represents thousands of families, teachers, neighbors, and alumni standing together to protect strong public schools in our community.

Your voices have made a real difference. At Monday’s retreat, the Kyrene Governing Board and Superintendent introduced new boundaries to minimize disruption, keep communities together, and committed to reevaluating the gifted academy strategy. Importantly, Mirada is now slated to remain open. This outcome was possible because of the passion, persistence, and unity shown by all of you.

But our work isn’t finished. We know the budget challenges facing Kyrene are part of a much larger issue: inadequate state and federal funding for Arizona schools. Our community is now preparing to take this fight to the state capitol, making Kyrene a focal point for why strong public education matters and why funding must improve.

Here’s how you can help next:

Stay engaged — attend upcoming board meetings and continue to show support.
Share the petition and updates with friends and neighbors.
Watch for opportunities to join us as we bring our message to state leaders.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this movement. Together, we are proving that communities united for their schools can make a difference.

With gratitude,
The Mirada Strong Team
