Please help! I am a resident of Oceanside, CA, and I am writing this petition with a heavy heart. The city plans to cut down a 50-year-old champion Camphor tree in our neighborhood. This tree is not just any tree; it's an amazing part of our community that provides numerous benefits.

Every part of this Camphor tree is useful and should not be wasted. It provides an abundance of shade that cools my home and offers relief to pedestrians who walk by daily. Its fragrant leaves & wood naturally repel pests such as mosquitos, termites, cockroaches, and rats - contributing to a healthier environment for us all.

Moreover, this magnificent specimen produces up to 10,000 berries each year which serve as food for local birds. It also generates approximately 260 lbs. of oxygen annually - enough to sustain two people for one year (Source: TreePeople). Also, a Camphor tree symbolizes happiness, harmony & longevity in our community.

However now the City wants to cut it down along with other trees in our neighborhood without considering these invaluable contributions they make towards our environment and well-being.

We must stop them from taking such harmful actions against the trees in our neighborhood. We need your support! Please sign this petition urging the City of Oceanside to reconsider their decision and protect these precious natural resources instead.
