Stop the changes to parking in Kings Langley High Street and car parks.

The Issue

We are asking you to oppose the changes to parking restrictions in Kings Langley High Street, Langley Hill Car Park and The Nap Car Parks. Dacorum Borough Council are trying to change the parking restrictions. The current restrictions are free parking for 1 hr on the High Street with no return within 2 hours between 8:30 and 18:30. Car parks are free all day.

The new restrictions divide the High Street into sections with either end of the High Street seeing the 1hour free parking reduced to 30 minutes with no return within 2 hrs and the middle section of the high street being chargeable. 30mins 80pence and 1 hour £1.50 with no return within 2 hours. Between the hours of 8:00 and 18:00.
The car parks will change from all day free parking to a limit of 4hrs free parking with no return within 2 hours.

The new parking restrictions will affect footfall to the small businesses along the High Street and in turn could see these businesses struggling to sustain their business. If businesses close the Dacorum Borough Council will lose the income from business rates that they are currently receiving.

We believe these changes will negatively impact all businesses on the high street and affect those who work there having limited options to park, forcing cars into residential streets and in turn causing congestion and unnecessary upset

6th May to 28th May 2024 there will be a consultation regarding the parking so we need your support now, otherwise the parking restrictions will go ahead in November 2024.
