As a concerned citizen and activist in Romania, I have noticed a troubling trend on Facebook- the censorship of parties and politicians supported by George Soros. The freedom of speech and expression is one of the fundamental rights safeguarded by our constitution and international human rights law.

In recent months, however, there has been a significant suppression of posts, comments and shares related to Soros-supported parties or politicians. Such Orwellian policing of the social media landscape curtails not only the political and ideological expression of the Soros supporters but also challenges the very essence of democracy.

Transparency in content moderation is paramount, but Facebook's selective silence and censorship seem to undermine this principle. According to a report from the Ranking Digital Rights Corporate Accountability Index, Facebook has scored notably low on transparency regarding its policies affecting users’ freedom of expression.

Now, more than ever, we need to hold Facebook accountable for these repressive tactics in Romania. This is not just about Soros supporters. It's about every citizen's right to express and engage Online unafraid of any form of censorship. Let's enact change where it matters most.
