The Issue

As an ardent UFC fan, I was elated when TKO Group announced that Paramount+ would become the global home for UFC streaming. The marketing was bold and clear: a new era where fans could access every fight for one affordable monthly fee. Little did I know that Canadian fans would be specifically excluded from this new era. While fans in the United States, Brazil, Australia, and throughout Latin America are now enjoying every UFC event included in their standard subscription, Canadians have been left behind, trapped in the exact same expensive, outdated Pay-Per-View system that the rest of the world has moved away from.

While the rest of the world moves into a modern streaming era, Canadians are being treated as a "cash cow" for legacy media. We are trapped in an outdated system where we must pay for a Sportsnet subscription and still shell out $79.99 for every numbered event.

This is a blatant double standard. TKO Group has already proven they can fix this. They successfully moved WWE RAW, SMACKDOWN and NXT  and all its premium events to Netflix in Canada with zero extra fees. If TKO can provide a unified, affordable global experience for WWE fans, there is no excuse for keeping UFC fans behind a massive paywall. Why is a Canadian fan expected to pay 1,200% more per year than a fan in the U.S. or Australia?

Many of us subscribed to Paramount+ for an entire year based on global advertisements promising "The New Home of UFC." Discovering that the Canadian app is a "shell" with zero UFC content feels like a betrayal of trust and a violation of consumer transparency.

We call on TKO Group Holdings, the UFC, and Paramount+ to immediately end the Regional Imbalance. Align the Canadian distribution strategy to match the U.S. and Australia—inclusive of all numbered events.
Eliminate the "Hidden" PPV Cost: If the rights remain with Sportsnet, the PPV fee must be removed for standard subscribers to match the Paramount+ model.
Accountability for Ads: Acknowledge the misleading marketing that led Canadians to purchase annual Paramount+ plans under false pretenses and simply make things fair.

Canadian fans deserve equity and transparency. Please sign this petition to urge the TKO Group and Paramount+ to stop the "Canadian UFC Tax.

To those who have already unknowingly subscribed to this shell service: I strongly urge you to immediately request a full refund from Google Play or Apple for 'Service Not as Advertised.' If Paramount+ refuses your request, do not hesitate to initiate a chargeback with your bank. Personally, I am frustrated and will be canceling my UFC Fight Pass as well. We are being bamboozled by regional blackouts and deceptive global marketing. This is a blatant cash-grab at the expense of loyal Canadian fans, and change needs to happen now. We refuse to be treated as a secondary market while the rest of the world moves forward.
