The Issue

Every day, passengers across the C2C network rely on trains to get to work, school, university, medical appointments, family commitments and home.

But when these services are repeatedly cancelled, delayed or changed at short notice, passengers are left paying the price.

A train cancellation isn't simply an inconvenience. It can mean arriving late for work, missing an appointment, losing pay, missing a connection, making alternative travel arrangements at additional cost, or being left waiting hours  for the next overcrowded service.

Hardworking and paying passengers deserve better!

We are calling for urgent action to address C2C cancellations and improve the reliability of services across the network. We are calling on C2C and the relevant transport authorities to:

  • Take urgent action to reduce avoidable train cancellations across the C2C network.
  • Identify the routes, services and causes requiring the most urgent attention - Seems to be the Southend via Grays Branch
  • Review fare prices particularly where reliability targets are not being met
  • Put effective contingency plans so that passengers have practical alternative travel options. Lack of replacement bus services is  not acceptable.
  • Improve accountability by clearly explaining what action is being taken when reliability targets are repeatedly missed.
  • Put passengers first. The people who depend on C2C every day deserve a railway service that is reliable, predictable and fit for purpose.

Our Message:
We understand that running a railway is complex and that some cancellations are unavoidable. But passengers should not be expected to accept persistent disruption as normal.

We are not asking for perfection. We are asking for reliability, transparency and accountability.

By signing this petition, you are calling for meaningful action to improve the reliability of C2C services and to ensure that passengers' time, money and commitments are treated with the importance they deserve.

Enough is enough. C2C passengers deserve better.
