Hi All,
Before anything else, you must all be thanked for your participation in the petition to get the development of Bull Hill and the Red House Gardens stopped. Because of you, we reached the threshold of signatories to qualify to be able to address the Council.
You may have seen various social media posts regarding the petition result and we wish we could have contacted you earlier, however, we have only sorted out all the information, restrictions, red tape etc...now we have the details, we are passing that on to you.
The meeting is public and being held on the 15th of October at 7pm at Mole Valley District Council, Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey, RH4 1SJ.
The meeting can also be viewed/streamed live via https://molevalley.public-i.tv/core/portal/home There are 2 meetings on this date and the petition address will be in the 2nd one listed as Council. However, we would recommend also watching the 1st one, listed as Extraordinary Cabinet, as we believe this may be something to do with the Local Plan.
At this meeting one of the eligible signatories or a representative may address the Council meeting, they may speak for no longer than 5 minutes and the address must be confined to explaining the subject matter of the petition. There can then be a statement in response which may not exceed 2 minutes except with agreement of Council.
A volunteer from our community will be giving the address as a representative of the original petitioner.
It would be absolutely great if we could have a really good presence at the meeting by as many of the people who signed the petition and people from the local community. There is limited space within the public gallery, however, a group of non-obstructive residents with banners and placards out side Pipbrook main entrance would really show support for the petition and the address to the Council. Banners and placards saying things like - 'Save our Park', 'No to tower blocks', 'Hands of our town' - this kind of thing.
A community presence at the meeting is extremely important, so please gather and make your opinions and voices heard. We reiterate - not obstructive, but a great community gathering.
We suggest getting to Pipbrook by 6.30pm to be in position as Council and Cabinet officers arrive for the meeting.
If you have any further questions, enquiries etc please feel free to contact us via the email below. It would also be great if you could let us know if you will be able to attend the meeting to continue with your support.
Huge thank you again to all 1500 of you that participated in the petition. Without you we would not have this opportunity. So please continue with your support and join everyone at Mole Valley District Council, Pippbrook, Dorking, Surrey, RH4 1SJ, on the 15th of October at 6.30pm.
We look forward to meeting you all.
