On Tuesday 23rd May 2017, AVAI applied for a judicial review against Bradford council's decision to approve the planning application for the Marley incinerator. We have been given expert legal advice that we have a very strong case and if successful, this will overturn the planning application. The judicial review process is very expensive and it is only with the generous help of the public that we have been able to do this - thank you all for your generous support so far! AVAI are committed to keep fighting to stop the incinerator, however, we will need to raise an additional £25,000 within the next eight weeks to bolster our existing campaign funds and allow us to continue the fight. A further statement on funding will be made over the coming days.
