The Issue

We have noticed with growing concern the steady decline of honey bees in our area, which has had a significant impact on local farms and small gardens. The once vibrant hum of bees has diminished, and this isn't just a loss for nature enthusiasts—it’s a wake-up call for everyone who cherishes the fruits of agriculture and the beauty of small-scale gardening. These industrious pollinators are critical to the health of our ecosystems and directly contribute to the success and yield of our crops.

As developers plan to build new 5G towers in our region, we are faced with potential consequences that extend beyond technological advancement. Scientific studies, including research from reputable sources such as the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, suggest that the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) emitted by such towers can negatively affect wildlife, particularly pollinators like bees. We cannot risk exacerbating the already worrying trend of bee decline, which threatens biodiversity and food production stability.

We propose a moratorium on the construction of new 5G towers in our area until comprehensive, independent studies can be conducted to assess the environmental impact, specifically on bee populations. During this time, we urge policymakers to invest in and explore alternative technologies and solutions that prioritize environmental safety and sustainability.

We call upon local government officials, environmental agencies, and telecommunications companies to take immediate action in reassessing the placement and necessity of new 5G infrastructure within our community. We believe that by proceeding with caution, we can avert potential detrimental effects on our environment while still pursuing the benefits of modern technology.

Help us ensure a balanced and thoughtful approach to technological progress that respects the delicate balance of nature. Please sign this petition to halt the construction of 5G towers now and protect our vital pollinators for future generations.
