The Brazilian government has confiscated the Spix’s Macaws from the breeding and reintroduction facility in Brazil. They raided the facility, took all computers and research data, confiscated the precious breeding macaws, and they are planning on euthanizing the Spix’s Macaws that they falsely believe are infected with a virus. The truth is, the birds have survived the virus and have been tested multiple times with zero positive test results currently. These horrific actions by the Brazilian government are completely unacceptable and immoral. These government officials are vindictive and jealous of the success that private aviculture experts have had in bringing the Spix’s Macaws back from extinction. We must stop this euthanasia!!!
