STOP the Boylston Development

STOP the Boylston Development
The Issue
Our neighborhood is important to us and always has been. We are a large (and growing) tight-knit group of concerned citizens dedicated to fostering the thoughtful, sustainable, and collaborative development of our neighborhood. This development is out of sync with our neighborhood in size, density, aesthetic, and intention. For over 100 years we have proudly been one of Milwaukee's only downtown adjacent neighborhoods that features single-family, duplex, and low-density apartment buildings. This has allowed us to enjoy a wonderful quality of life and property values that have withstood more than one economic downturn. We are predominantly owner-occupied and take great pride in our properties. Allowing a high-density development by a non-resident developer runs a very real risk of permanently damaging our property values and puts the City of Milwaukee at risk of losing one of its greatest, oldest, and most beloved neighborhoods.
While we are NOT OPPOSED to development of this site in the future, we are specifically opposed to the kind of high-density development suggested with this project.
