Hello friends,

Unfortunately, the state did sell the land at Ironwood and Germann to LG at the auction on 4-19-22. It was announced on TV, as well as a statement by Governor Doug Ducey.

But we are finally getting some attention. I have been contacted by both Neil Carter, at the state, and Kevin Cavanaugh with Pinal County. Mr. Cavanaugh indicated in his email that they are gathering information, comments and plans to properly evaluate and form responses to our varying issues. In his own words, "It is important that we address each issue based on applicable law, policy and facts."

Neil Carter stated that he attended a meeting yesterday with a number of concerned citizens and that he contacted the Town of Queen Creek to "get the scoop on exactly what is going on regarding the approvals and placement of this factory, and to stipulate that I have concerns from local area residents."

But he also wanted to alert me to a meeting happening tonight. He urged any concerned citizens to attend a Town Council meeting tonight, Wednesday, April 20th, 6:30 pm, at the Council Chambers at 20727 E. Civic Parkway, Queen Creek. If you want to let the Council see our resolve, I urge you to attend tonights meeting. We also need to let them know that further changes of zoning on the adjoining 1000 acres to the same high density industrial zoning, is not appropriate to our community. If they are willing to put a battery factory on these 650 acres, what will they decide to allow on a larger 1000 acres?

Please, if you have the time, consider attending tonight's meeting.
