Texas is attempting to pass similar legislation to North Carolina's HB2 to limit public restroom access for transgender people. The bill, called the Texas Privacy Act or Senate Bill 6, would require people to only use the restroom that corresponds to the sex listed on their birth certificate. Texas Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick introduced a discriminatory bathroom bill in the Lone Star state — despite outcries from human rights activists and The Texas Associations of Business's warnings that the legislation could harm the Texas economy.
