Stop the BAN of new medical cannabis and equity permits in SF

Stop the BAN of new medical cannabis and equity permits in SF
The Issue
San Francisco board of supervisors will vote this coming Tuesday, June 6th 2023, to BAN any new cannabis permits in the city. This includes Medical cannabis, Equity, and micro businesses.
This will create a illegal monopoly, without addressing why the city cannabis market is failing.
This will create barriers to entry for equity permits and continued halt on re seating legacy cannabis stakeholders and micro business's.
The city of San Francisco by law became a sanctuary status city for medical cannabis in 2001.
The city of San Francisco has not done a impact report of the reasons why legacy stakeholders are no longer on the map .
After we fought for and built the permitting process in 2004/5.
The city's medical cannabis taskforce of 2011/13 advised the city to open cannabis harm reduction centers, and for every city permitted cannabis club to have a compassion distribution system.
To date? Only a small handful of clubs have compassionate care for the city's disabled, veterans, and low income families.
This BAN will impact California small farmers in need of legal outlets as they experience a extinction event.
This BAN is promoted by one business lobby/ network , with short sighted guidance. This ban is unhealthy even for their sought after illegal monopoly.
This BAN makes zero cents.
UPDATE, the first board of supervisors vote passed the BAN, which they and lobbyist and equity stakeholders who stand to benefit from BANNING all new permits until 2029, are using soft language in the media and calling it a * pause*
Its a de facto BAN which creates a illegal monopoly for one network of merchants and lobbyist.
The second reading and Mayor signature are needed to pass into law.
They have that secret chambers handshake already.
The ONLY path to interrupt this illegal activities is to get loud that we understand anti trust / anti monopoly laws to the city attorneys office and hold the city's attorneys office accountable.
