We, the undersigned residents and supporters of Menomonie and the surrounding community, stand firmly against the construction and operation of a massive industrial data center proposed by Balloonist, LLC.

This out-of-state, anonymous corporate entity has already secured annexation and rezoning of over 300 acres of rural, agricultural land but the fight isn’t over. This facility threatens to:

Consume massive amounts of water and energy, with unknown environmental consequences

Erase farmland and rural heritage, permanently altering the character of our community

Burden taxpayers through public subsidies, without guaranteed long-term jobs or benefits

Operate under secrecy, with little transparency about its true scale, purpose, or impacts

We refuse to let this project proceed without full public accountability, independent environmental review, and proof it will serve our community, not just corporate profit.

Menomonie’s land, water, and future belong to the people, not to hidden investors or distant shareholders.

We demand that local leaders take every legal, regulatory, and policy step to stop this project from being built.
