We have received feedback from Archean Resources, the shelf company who is applying for prospecting rights. According to the local newspaper “Die Kontrei” they will not be applying for mining rights, but might sell their findings in the event of prospecting realising.

Notice is hereby given in terms of the MPRDA (Act No.28 Of 2002) together with NEMA (Act No 107 of 1998): Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2017 (As Amended), that Buchuberg Resources (Pty) Ltd has applied for prospecting right and environmental authorisation’s on above mentioned properties, situated in the Matzikama Local Municipality, West Coast District Municipality, Western Cape Province.
Basic Assessment Report/ Environmental Management Plan and Specialist Reports will be available for review for at least 30 days from the 2nd of June 2021 to the 2nd of July 2021; Reports will be emailed to registered interested and affected parties and upon request, hard copies will be available at:
• Strandfontein Municipality office
• Ebenezer Municipality office
• Papendorp Municipality office

The other three BAR’s are in the process of being amended, according to sources close to the internal workings of the process. Also specialist reports are being conducted, as was relayed to us. This would most likely mean a narrowed down approach to the current area in question.
However much this might sound like good news, it still is not. There is still an aim at the area. One piece of land being prospected and mined will lead to more pieces of land following down the same road. In other words, a snowball effect. One thing leads to another.
We implore you to comment on the platforms provided by Archean Resources. Have your voice heard and register as an interested and affected party!
