Living in Dallas, GA is becoming increasingly challenging with the recent growth and development. The announcement of 680 new homes being built on 320 acres through the annexation of Cole Lake Road is alarming to residents like me who already navigate heavy traffic and overpopulated schools. Our infrastructure is not equipped to handle this sudden influx.
The streets are congested, and with current resources, accommodating even more vehicles will only exacerbate the issue. We've already seen how overcrowding impacts daily commutes, increases in traffic accidents, and the degradation of our roads. The peaceful characteristic of our neighborhood is under threat, turning what was once a serene area into a congested hub.
Furthermore, our schools are struggling with overcrowding, affecting the quality of education our children receive. Class sizes have ballooned, and with the prospect of hundreds of new families, the situation will worsen. Our community needs more resources, not more demand on our limited facilities.
The city of Dallas needs to consider the long-standing residents who will bear the brunt of these changes. We need responsible development that takes into account the capabilities of our current infrastructure and the well-being of our community.
If this construction proceeds as planned without addressing these concerns, our community's quality of life will be severely compromised. We urge community members and city officials to re-evaluate this annexation plan. As citizens who care deeply about the sustainability and feasibility of our development, we ask for more comprehensive studies on the impact of such a large-scale project.
Sign this petition to join us in stopping the annexation of Cole Lake Road and ensuring that growth in Dallas, GA is measured, responsible, and considers the voices of its current residents.
Together, we can protect our community and work towards a sustainable future.
