Stop the Amendments to Florida State Parks' Unit Management Plans

The Issue

As avid travelers and nature lovers, my husband and I have spent significant time traversing the beautiful state of Florida, marveling at the spectacular Springs – untouched and preserved just as Mother Nature intended. We have reveled in the absolute magic of nature, and it is our heartfelt wish for our grandchildren and their descendants to share this exact joy. We advocate for all the voiceless, defenseless animals - the original inhabitants of this land. Imagine the havoc this would wreak on their homes!  We wholeheartedly plead for the preservation of Florida state parks in their pristine forms.

At the heart of our appeal is the objection to the 9 Amendments being proposed to currently active Unit Management Plans for Jonathan Dickinson, Martin - Anastasia, Topsail Hill Preserve, Camp Helen, Grayton Beach, Hillsborough River, Honeymoon Island, Dr. Von Mizell and Oleta parks. These amendments, if approved, could have dire consequences for our cherished ecosystems, which are already at an unprecedented threat due to rising pollution and climate change. Furthermore, with Indian River County being home to several endangered and native species, it is incumbent upon us to uphold and protect their natural habitats.

We, the citizens of Indian River County, appeal to everyone reading this: stand with us in preserving these ecological havens for future generations. Our children will thank us, our wildlife will thank us, and most importantly, our planet will thank us. Join the fight today and demand the removal of these proposed amendments. Your signature can save Florida's state parks from a grim, irreversible fate. Thank you for acting on the right side of history, and may this campaign find favour in your heart.
