Look at other towns like Prineville, Oregon, and Quincy, Washington, where similar centers have contributed to escalating local issues. For instance, The New York Times reported significant noise pollution and unexpected strains on municipal resources, leaving communities with more problems than solutions. Our town’s heritage, natural beauty, and tranquility are at stake. Instead of allowing this AI data center to move forward unchecked, we should focus on encouraging sustainable investment that aligns with our community values and needs. This could include promoting green tech businesses or community-centered enterprise initiatives that genuinely benefit Grand Junction’s residents. I urge everyone who loves and respects our town to stand together in opposition to this proposal.
