We, the residents and customers of AES Indiana, are standing up to say ENOUGH.

AES is requesting a $192.9 million per year increase to our electricity rates — on top of a 17% increase they already slipped in earlier this year. If approved, this could raise our monthly bills by 35–40% or more.

Here’s what that really means:

If your bill is $100 now, it could go to $135–$140
$150 could turn into $202
$200 could become $270 or more
That’s $400–$1,000+ extra a year, per household
But what makes this even worse is AES Indiana's billing system is still broken.

Customers have been dealing with:

⚠️ Three different bill amounts depending on how you pay (online, Easy Pay, or by phone)
⚠️ EPA assistance credits not being applied correctly
⚠️ Outrageous charges with no explanation
⚠️ "Past due" notices after bills were paid
⚠️ Little to no accountability or customer service help

All while AES was doing a full website/system overhaul — and they never fixed it.

We believe NO utility company should be allowed to raise rates while they’re still making billing errors and causing financial stress. Especially not in a time when people are struggling with inflation, high rent, and rising costs of living.

We demand that:
A full audit of AES Indiana’s billing system and practices be done
All billing errors and credits be corrected for ALL affected customers
NO rate increases be approved until AES can prove their system is accurate, transparent, and fair
AES is a public utility, and that means they work for us — not the other way around. We will not sit quietly while our neighbors are overcharged and ignored.
