I wanted to share with you all an exceptionally positive update to the pending rezoning request of the property on Lawrence Road.
Earlier today, I became aware that our Mayor (Jenn Weaver) and the greater Hillsborough Board of Commissioners (Evelyn Lloyd, Mark Bell, Matt Hughes (Mayor Pro Tem), Kathleen Ferguson and Rob English) joined us by collectively documenting their opposition to the rezoning application request of the Lawrence Road property (MA22-0004 (Lawrence Road, LLC)). Needless to say, this is a significant endorsement in support of our collective opposition to this pending rezoning application. Below you will find a link to their letter to the Orange County Board of County Commissioners (OC BOCC). In my opinion, the letter is a masterful reduction into words as to why this rezoning request is not only bad for the neighborhood surrounding the property in question but it is bad for a progressive Hillsborough.

PLEASE NOTE: Though this is indeed terrific news, the final decision regarding this matter will ultimately rest with the OC BOCC. Therefore, we need to continue to work to get the word out and ensure that our collective voices of opposition are simply too overwhelming for the OC BOCC to ignore.
