The Issue

Pulte's proposed housing development will involve clearcutting a forest with over 900 trees including some that are over 150 years old and displacing countless wildlife. It will also heavily increase the property taxes for those who currently live in the area as the proposed houses to be built will be sold for $600,000 and up. The surrounding neighborhoods will experience a massive increase in traffic which will also result in even more congestion downtown at the intersection of Main Street and Route 31.

Saint Charles needs more affordable housing not luxury homes that could push out current residents due to increased taxes and traffic. The development will be eliminating yet even more green space from downtown Saint Charles, taking away what residents cherish most and replacing it with luxury cookie cutter homes.

Please help Stop the 7th Street Commons Housing Development by signing the petition and letting our town council know that Saint Charles residents value our diverse community, beautiful forest areas, and living in a town that puts the needs of its current residents over some developers who are just trying to make money.
