Action Steps Beyond this Petition, Public Hearing Meeting upcoming and continuing to share this!

Hello Supporters, 

It has been encouraging to see how far this petition is spreading and at the same time alarming at how few people even knew this project was on the horizon. I have gone to several neighbors to talk to them about this and none of them were aware. This is unacceptable in my opinion. AEP and I&M are not making the appropriate effort for all people in these effected communities to know what they are proposing. We need to change this before the public hearing on September 23rd in Fort Wayne and September 24th in Angola. 

Some things to spark you into action....even if you are not in the direct path of these lines you will still be able to see them up to 5 miles away with mature trees around and on very open land they can be seen 15 miles away. Please do your research to see how they negatively affect the environment, we need to protect our farmlands and our homesteads so they can continue to thrive. Please look into the negative health effects that they are connected to, they are serious concerns and risks. Lets continue to take action and spread this petition and light a fire under each of YOU to make some noise!

There are several ways to make an impact:

1. landowners, farmers, hikers, residents, Gardners, anyone who wants to preserve our countryside can get on aeptransmission.com and submit specific route conflict comment BEFORE October 9th. This is VERY important! Don't hesitate!
2. Email IMoutreach@aeptransmission.com or call 877-605-5554 asking I&M to reject study segments cutting through and around your area farms, homes, pollinator habitat and private property.
3. Ask ACRES Land Trust to endorse a public update on protecting northeast Indiana natural and working lands, call 260-637-2273 and ask for Executive Director Jason Kissel.
4. Ask Delia Makhetha, Project Outreach Rep for I&M how your town, homeowners, and pollinator habitat scored in route selection on aeptransmission.com
5. Request written answers on alternative routes; using existing transportation or utility corridors, avoiding productive farmland and ruducing impacts near your homes. 
6. ATTEND I&M's OPEN HOUSE SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2026 from 5-7PM at the WAR MEMORIAL COLISEUM in FORT WAYNE for the public hearing. This will show them we seriously we oppose this by taking time to SHOW UP. Please consider making this a priority! 
7. Simply tell everyone you know in your community. I live near Churubusco and Line 2 is proposed to go right through the 30 acres we live on so I am fighting for my land and my homestead. You can have a voice and fight for yours. Please keep sharing this petition with anyone and everyone.
