Stop the $5 Daily Parking Fee at Tropical Park – Keep Our Parks Free and Accessible!

The Issue

Tropical Park is one of Miami-Dade’s most cherished public spaces — a place where families gather, children play sports, seniors walk for health, and the community comes together for events year-round.

Now, a proposed $5 daily parking fee threatens to put a price tag on our right to enjoy these public spaces.

Why This Matters:
Parks should be for everyone – not just those who can afford an extra fee.
We already pay for our parks through property taxes; charging again is unfair and unnecessary.
This will hurt families, seniors, and low-income residents who rely on parks for free, safe recreation.
Community health will suffer when fewer people visit our parks.
There are better solutions – budget surpluses and reallocation of funds can cover costs without penalizing residents.

We call on Miami-Dade County leaders to reject this fee and keep Tropical Park and all county parks free and open to everyone.

Our public parks are not luxuries — they are essential spaces that strengthen our health, families, and community. Let’s protect them.

Sign this petition today to show our elected officials that the community stands united against the $5 daily parking fee.
