The Issue

We call on Village leaders to protect our children, preserve neighborhood character, and reject the rezoning and proposed development at 104 Walker Avenue and 301 Park Avenue.

Why This Project Is Wrong for Clarendon Hills

  • Hotel by a school: Places a “boutique” hotel—functioning like an Airbnb-style short-term rental—just 350 feet from Walker Elementary School.
  • Dangerous precedent: Exploits a “hotel” label to force transient lodging into a single-family residential area.
  • Safety & traffic: Adds car volume and congestion where children walk and bike daily to school, town, and home.
  • Master Plan conflict: Requires rezoning from R-1 (single-family) to B-2 (business)—a direct break from our Village’s planning vision.
  • Harms neighbors: Brings noise, commercial activity, privacy intrusion, and lowers quality of life for adjacent homes.
  • Permanent change: Pushes downtown commercial intensity into a quiet block, permanently eroding neighborhood character.

What We’re Asking

  • Reject the rezoning and deny approval of the hotel/commercial/condo proposal at 104 Walker & 301 Park.

Next Action Items

  • Attend the Village Board Meeting: Monday, September 15 @ 6:30 PM (Public comment is at the start—let’s pack the room!)
  • Email the Boards: Tell them you oppose this oversized hotel/commercial/condo project.
  • Zoning Board: ecage@clarendonhills.us
  • Village Board of Trustees: VillageBoard@clarendonhills.us

Add your name: Sign the petition to keep our neighborhood safe, family-centered, and aligned with the Village Master Plan.

Show your support: Order a yard sign – $10
