Effective Jan. 1, all contract and select visitor parking rates will increase for Texas Medical Center (TMC) owned garages and parking lots.

Two visitor parking time ranges will increase for 2023. The maximum daily rate will increase from $15 to $19. The lost ticket price will increase to $30.

This increase is imposed despite multiple car thefts, burglaries, and assaults occurring in these garages. There are NO cameras, and there is no protection or security. Despite this, they are increasing the price for a daily rate, which most employees and patients will have to pay due to limited public transportation options.

Where is the money going? Will there be a cap? TMC should not increase their prices and should re-evaluate their budget.
