Our neighbors may well be taxed out of their long-time homes. Small businesses will feel the brunt as well. The proposed 20% tax increase in Morrisville will impact residents who have been a part of our town for years. This drastic hike is unaffordable for many families, seniors and retirees on fixed incomes. According to recent data, property taxes have already increased by 15% over the past three years (source: Town of Morrisville Annual Budget Report). A further increase will only exacerbate financial strain and disrupt our tight-knit community. We urge the mayor and town council to reconsider this proposal and find alternative solutions that do not displace our residents and small businesses.
