There is a proposed zoning change for the property 125 Orchard street known formerly as the Gheradi Greenhouse from a 4 house single family zone to a allow a multi family property to allow for 15 townhouses. This is 4 times the population density of what it is currently zoned for.

The addition of townhouses would negatively affect the area by creating significant congestion of traffic on a small road with limited access. The townhouses would be out of character with the neighborhood of single families. The property abuts the Pennington school and would create issues with the uses of the fields for sports activties. Construction would create disruption to the children of the school at recess. Construction required is blasting and chemical remediation which creates significant health concerns. 

Single family homes are more in character with the neighborhood.

Townhouses will decrease the property value of the surrounding homes.

The builder has not done an impact report for traffic, schools, or environmental changes to the neighborhood. 

Allowing this zoning ordinance change cpuld create a dangerous precedence which could permanently alter the character of the Fleetwood neighborhood.
