If God’s grace alone can solve all the problems of the world, why did Rama and Krishna fight wars? Even though Rama was an avatar of Bhagawan Vishnu, he became tired of fighting Ravana, and sage Agastya advises him to chant Aditya Hrudayam to get the power from the Sun, so that he would be victorious in his fight against Ravana. Throughout his life, Rama fights with many people: Thaatakaa, Shubaahu, Maareecha, Ravana, et. al. There is a clear message here to us as humans. We need to do our duties as a family member, employee, citizen, etc. and also pray. Many of us wrongly believe that every evil in the world will automatically disappear just by praying.
Krishna fought with Bakasura, Aghasura, Kaliya, Kamsa, Jarasandha, Kalayavana, and Rukmi. Even though Krishna was with Arjuna as his charioteer throughout, Arjuna had to fight very hard to win the Mahabharata war.
All of these Itihasa stories tell us one important lesson. The world has been created by Bhagawan with its own characteristic rules. Even if it is Bhagawan taking an avatar of a human being, he has to abide by the rules of creation of the world and go through the ups and downs.
I created this petition on Change.org about a year ago, and there were 8000+ signatures two months ago. Then I again shared on LinkedIn, Facebook, and many WhatsApp groups, asking everyone to ensure that at least 10 of their friends or family members sign the petition. There have been 3000 views of my new post on LinkedIn alone, and the total number of people with whom I shared through WhatsApp must be around 1000. However, till today, only 180 signatures in all have been added to my appeal on Change.org. So, most people who read my post either did not sign or did not make concerted effort to get additional signatures. Probably, they are thinking that if they pray, Bhagawan will automatically take care of changing the society.
It took several decades, legal battles, and finally a Supreme Court judgment to get back the rights of Padmanabhaswamy temple to the Travancore Royal family. I request every believer of Sanatana Dharma to learn from Rama and Krishna that you need to work (even fight) in order to cause what is right in our world. If you are clear about it, please work on getting more signatures on this public interest petition.
