Stop technology from advancing altogether

Stop technology from advancing altogether
The issue
I'm deeply concerned about the relentless advancement of technology. Many people, including myself, feel left behind and disconnected from what we truly love. The nostalgic technology we grew up with is fading away, replaced by cold, impersonal innovations. It seems every day, something we cherish is nearly forgotten because it's no longer considered 'new' or 'efficient.' More than just a sentimental issue, the rapid advancements are affecting our employment prospects, with AI taking over jobs humans used to do.
Numerous individuals are now facing the harsh reality that their jobs might vanish because of AI. The unemployment rates due to technology replacing human labor is a cause for alarm. The education of our young ones is also at stake. Screens with touchscreen technology, boundless internet access, and ever-changing gadgets distract rather than engage children, making it difficult for them to focus on educational content sustainably.
Shutting down the internet and reintroducing technologies from the 2000s like DVDs, flip phones, and vintage gaming consoles can not only bring nostalgia but stability. We need simple technology that people are familiar with, without the endless complications that modern technology carries. Bringing back DVDs can help families bond over a simple movie night; flip phones encourage real conversation away from endless scrolling.
- The Switch 2 Will be Banned and the Wii Will be brought back
- AI Will Be Banned
- Streaming Services will be banned
- Smartphones will be banned and replaced by flip phones
- The Internet will Either Shut down or Be Reduced to 2000-2005 Standards
Moreover, the focus needs to shift on life-saving technological advancements only—like extending the life of the sun or preventing catastrophic geological events such as moving tectonic plates. These are advancements worth pursuing while sidestepping the path of technology meant for human replacement.
Join me in this call to action for slowing down unnecessary technological advancements and cherishing what we once had. Let us prioritize the betterment and sustainability of our traditional way of life. Sign this petition to advocate for a future where technology sustains us without overpowering our fundamental human connections and employment. Together, we can ensure that the charm of simpler times is preserved for future generations.
