Kildare company Texacloth is being urged to end its sponsorship of the cruel greyhound industry.
The Clane-based wool company, which has been supporting greyhound racing for over 40 years, is currently sponsoring the “Texacloth Juvenile Derby Open” at Newbridge track.
Previously, it sponsored the “€17,600 Puppy Derby” in 2012 and a similar derby last year with over €13,000 in prize money.
No business should support this nasty industry which kills 6,000 greyhounds every year because they are too slow to win races. Others are mutilated, doped, injured, dumped and exported to hellholes in China and Pakistan.
More and more companies are rejecting greyhound racing, including Barry's Tea, FBD Insurance, Galway Crystal, Botanica International, Hyde Irish Whiskey, Tesco Ireland, Toyota Ireland, Permanent TSB, Boston Scientific, GE Healthcare, Treacy’s Hotel Waterford, Maldron Hotel Limerick, ULearn English Language School, Voucher Cloud, Thomas Cook/Jet Tours, Applegreen, etc
