Did you know? Approximately 1 in 100 people in the UK alone have Coeliac Disease and further 8% in the UK are affected by Milk allergies.

I have Coeliac Disease, which is an autoimmune Condition which stops your body from processing anything that contains gluten. This condition makes you very unwell, unless you take gluten out of your diet, there is currently no cure- like there is no cure to many other autoimmune conditions, the only way to cure them is to take that ingredient out of your life. I was diagnosed with the disease in October 2021 after feeling under the weather for weeks through my GCSES. Since then I have had to eat food from the "Free From Range". Majority of supermarkets now have a free from range for people with Dietary restrictions such as Milk, egg and nuts. However these foods in some supermarkets can be extortionately priced for simple things such as bread and butter. A normal loaf of bridge costs around £1.50. Add the Free From Label on it it can amount up to £4.00 for the same loaf of bread If not smaller. The produce available is also very slim in many supermarkets across the UK. Majority of younger children miss out at parties and events because they do not cater for allergies or intolerances, this is due to the price of gluten/milk/egg free food being more expensive and sometimes not available. This could be changed if supermarkets lowered the price of their free from ranges and stopped profiting of people's intolerances- to the majority of people it's a MUST to stop them getting ill. 

Gluten/milk and egg free food is around 30% more expensive than NORMAL food. This is really unfair considering that this food is for medical reasons. 

I am asking for the government and the supermarket chains including fast food companies to lower the price of their free from food to make it more affordable to those who have serious health conditions. This isn't something just one supermarket can enforce, this should be a general law, that shops can't overpriced on people's illnesses. We don't choose to have these Conditions, we have no choice.
