Hi - you may have heard the disappointing news that,  despite over 22,500 people signing this petition plus several paper petitions being handed over, Suffolk County Council has voted unanimously to take the service back in-house from the end of May.

I was at the cabinet meeting and was appalled at how they totally ignored the feelings of Suffolk residents and library users. The council also spent most of the afternoon damning the senior team at Suffolk Libraries saying they had no faith in their financial management. To me it felt like a trial without the accused getting a chance to defend themselves. A sad day. 

However I want to say a big thank you to you for taking the time to sign this petition.  I think there is no doubt that at least we made our feelings known and showed our  support for Suffolk Libraries CEO - Bruce Leeke, the Chair of the board - Sylvia Knights and the whole team.
