Stop Stephens Preserve Housing Development in Rising Sun, MD

The Issue

Stephen's Preserve is a proposed housing development in the town of Rising Sun, MD.  The development would consist of 113+ homes between Steven's Rd & Walnut St and would exit onto Main St. adjacent to McDonalds (the original plans show the exit on Walnut, but that's been changed...they haven't released the new sketch).

This development is too large for our area. The increase in population would put a strain on our already overburdened infrastructure, increase traffic, increase classroom sizes & strain our public services.  Stephen's Preserve would destroy natural habitats and put wildlife at risk. It could increase crime rates and have other negative social effects. It would also drastically alter the aesthetic of the town by replacing beautiful open spaces with a massive number of small homes.

If you oppose Stephen's Preserve, please sign so we can take this information to the Planning & Zoning committee.  Thank you & please attend the Planning & Zoning meetings.  They are held on the 1st & 3rd Monday of each month.
